Tips, Tricks and Hacks - For Beginners.
Whether you're an amateur or Pro at makeup; you can never stop learning. I remember how hard it was for me when i just started applying makeup on my own. Believe it or not, i actually only started loving makeup about 4 years ago and i'm not ashamed to say i'm still learning but i've come a long way. I started this blog to inspire others, like myself, with a love and passion for makeup.
I thought In this blog, I'd share with you some beginner tips (that i wish i knew when i was just learning) in hopes to inspire new makeup lovers, and even old ones. (come on, i'm sure there are some things you don't all know)
1. When choosing foundation, opt for a formula that will complement your skin type. Oil-free formulas are best for acne-prone skin.
2. Don't use the back of your hand to test foundation, unless it's the same skin tone as your face, its always best to test your neck, or area around your mouth.
3. Always choose your concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone ( one shade lighter than foundation)
4. Face powder hides blemishes easier and smoother than liquid
5. BLEND. BLEND. BLEND. Most times, you aren't going to get your exact foundation color. I always blend my 2 closest shades for perfect makeup
6. Always blend in circular motion
7. Apply blush starting from the center of your rosy cheeks (apples), and blend it in an upward direction towards your temples.
8. To get the high cheek bone effect, use bronzer under your cheekbone and a highlighter on the actual cheekbone.
9. Always use an eye primer. Always layer the entire eye with a natural eyeshadow before applying colors. Powders are easier to blend on powder.
10. To contour the eyes, use shades of brown/dark brown on the crease of the eyes.
11. To make the eyeshadow intense, apply a white eye pencil as a base for the eyeshadow. This would make the color pop.
12. Eye Liner is always applied after the eyeshadow, and before the mascara.
13. To add gorgeous length to your lashes, Check out my post on lengthy lashes
14. Wanna look fresh all day long? Use a gold/silver highlighter on the inner corners of the eyes to make the face look more fresh and awake.
And Finally,
15.Apply a lip balm/lip conditioner a few minutes before you apply lipstick.
Hope you guys enjoyed. Let me know if you want to see part 2 to this.
Xoxo
